The company is very new

Actually, this is a headhunting company. The consultant claimed to know many decision-makers or points of contact at foreign companies, but did not actually say what successful placements they had made. They nitpicked my academic background, school, and experience. In plain terms, they just wanted you to start from the bottom so they could sell the positions they had on hand, I suppose. I made the trip and got nothing out of it. The consultant also seemed very insincere and only interested in padding their records. I feel it’s better to keep your distance.
