● Interview for a receptionist/front desk position
● The interview notification email only provided the company address. After looking it up on Google, I learned that it was located inside the Far Eastern Building. When I arrived that day, the area around the building was under renovation, so it took me some time to find the entrance. The inside of the building was also quite complicated—almost as cumbersome as Taipei 101—and required changing to a visitor card, among other procedures. It is recommended that the company inform candidates of these details when sending the interview notification. When I called the company that day to ask for directions, the staff member’s attitude was also poor.
● When filling out the forms, they were printed crooked and messy. It made me feel that HR was either not very professional or simply did not value this aspect very much?
● Although I was only applying for a receptionist position, I still answered seriously and spent 30 minutes writing a great deal. In the end, the interview lasted only five minutes. Two people came in to conduct the interview; one was the front desk woman who had just received me. I assume the other was HR(?), but they did not introduce themselves or say who they were. They had a very unpleasant expression ˊ__>ˋ and immediately told me to introduce myself. After I finished, they asked the front desk woman to explain the job duties. Once she finished explaining, they asked whether I had any questions. After I asked one, HR answered with a very poor attitude as well. Seeing their sour expression throughout the entire interview, I could not continue with it either ಠ_ಠ
● I did not apply on my own initiative; the company invited me to interview. Given that circumstance, this was the first time I had encountered HR with such a poor attitude.
● Summary: HR had a very unpleasant expression and a rude tone, making it obvious that they had no intention of talking with me.
