Pros

1. The interview notification email is very detailed, even telling you how to get there and where to park.

2. After the interview, they tell you on the spot the exact date and time to keep an eye on your phone, and they also reconfirm the phone number you provided to make sure it is correct. They explain that if you do not receive a call by that time, it means “Thanks, but no thanks.” This is good and very organized; it does not leave job seekers waiting indefinitely.

Cons

1. The interview notification email says that you have to fill out a résumé form on-site before the interview. The interviewing manager will only see the résumé you write on-site, so whatever you have on 104 is irrelevant.

2. The base salary is NT$27,000–30,000. Only after adding bonuses does it reach the NT$33,000–50,000 stated on 104. As for the bonus amount, the sales manager says it depends on your own effort; NT$33,000–50,000 is the company’s average salary.

3. No business trips or assignments away from your usual location are required. Definition: only travel between counties or cities counts as a business trip. Opportunities to travel depend on earning them through your own performance; even if you want to travel, the company may not necessarily let you go.

4. You must provide your own scooter.

5. I forgot to ask whether fuel costs are reimbursed. Based on the manager’s description of the job, you would probably spend all day out visiting clients.

6. They repeatedly emphasized during the interview that sales experience is not required and that it is best to be a blank slate.
