Deliberately concealed the interview process from the job applicant, causing the applicant to lose other job opportunities as well.
Here’s what happened: I went to this company for an interview on Tuesday and had a very pleasant conversation with the owner’s wife. However, since I had another job interview on Wednesday, I had not yet confirmed the other details with the owner’s wife.
I am certain that the owner’s wife personally said something along the lines of keeping the opportunity and position open for me. The other party told me to call the company back by Friday; otherwise, the company had procedures to complete.
Therefore, during Wednesday’s job interview, I turned down the job offer on the spot and also contacted that company on Wednesday. The person I contacted never returned my calls. After trying to reach them for two days, I finally got in touch on Thursday. The other party brushed me off and told me to wait for the result on Friday.
Then I was not hired and was told that they already had a more suitable candidate. Yet that evening, they updated their job listing on the recruitment website. Was this simply a matter of deceiving interviewees by telling them they were not selected?
The point that makes me feel deceived is that I cannot understand why I had to wait until Friday for notification. This was not mentioned during Tuesday’s interview. At the time, the owner’s wife only told me to contact the manager by Friday and did not explain that the company had procedures to complete. This caused me to lose other job opportunities.
The promises made to me on Tuesday were also not kept, and even the claim that they had already found a more suitable candidate was a lie. Because they had updated their recruitment website, they clearly intended to continue looking for people. The listing said they were urgently hiring. They keep looking for people and then rejecting them, making me wonder whether the company is deliberately tormenting job applicants.
