I applied for an administrative assistant position. The interviewer was very arrogant and kept bombarding me with questions throughout the interview. Even when I answered, he would come up with all kinds of hypothetical scenarios to shoot me down. The entire interview lasted an hour and a half, and he spent an hour asking questions. Only afterward did he say that he was testing my communication skills, leaving no time for me to ask questions.
The benefits were average. The interview didn’t cover much, and he didn’t really let me ask questions either. For lunch, you can order it through the company for NT$60, or bring your own lunch and microwave it at the company. There are fixed two-day weekends, and public holidays are days off.
The salary is very basic. For operators, the probationary salary is NT$22,000, rising to NT$23,000–24,000 after probation. For administrative assistants, it is NT$23,000 during probation and NT$25,000 afterward. The above figures include the perfect-attendance bonus.
Overall, everything else was fine. The only problem was the management director who conducted the interview—he was extremely difficult. He is willing to teach people, but the prerequisite is that you can tolerate his sarcastic remarks, which he thinks are for your own good. Rather than feeling like you’re going to work, it feels more like being at school with a teacher constantly lecturing and watching you. The pressure is incredibly intense.
