Disadvantages
1. The supervisor likes to talk about “assigning blame.” Even if there is a problem with an order from someone who resigned a long time ago, you are still expected to investigate and determine who is responsible. Even if you have only recently joined and do not understand the situation, you cannot say the four words “I don’t know”—those words are strictly forbidden in the company. As long as something happens and you are at the company and hear about it, you are considered to know about it. You then have to find a way to understand and handle it, and you must frequently report back on matters both large and small.
2. The supervisor really likes to engage in personal attacks and verbal harassment when holding meetings or speaking privately with sales and administrative staff. They will also tell you, “I’m afraid everyone won’t understand, so I use the most primitive human senses to explain things to everyone.” On the surface, they berate you in front of everyone, then privately apologize and tell you, “Don’t take it to heart.”
3. There is no overtime pay; everything is treated as a responsibility-based position. Working on holidays is considered normal. If you do not come to work, they may even think there is something wrong with you and that you are not of the same mind as them.
A lot of working time is wasted in meetings and being inexplicably scolded and berated, listening to unpleasant and offensive language. Only after they are satisfied will they let you go do the work you are supposed to do. Even when something happens that causes a customer complaint, they first scold and berate you (then privately tell you, “I’m not attacking you; I’m attacking the case. If you think the case is unreasonable, you would lose your temper too”), and during the process of scolding and berating you, they vaguely reveal some ways to handle it. But if your handling is not acceptable, you have to repeatedly go through the cycle of being scolded and berated again and again. You may end up not getting many of the day’s tasks done; just being scolded can take up your entire day. Then you have to quietly work overtime to do the work you should have done, and customer complaints also have to be postponed until the next day.
Customer complaints must be resolved within two days at the latest (resolving them on the same day or immediately is considered perfect).
4. While working here, you have to disclose your entire life—your partner, even the underwear you wear every day, and so on. They want to know everything. If they know all of this, it means you want to strive and struggle together with them and are of the same mind. If you do not tell them, they will keep targeting and attacking the things you do not want to discuss. (During your first one to three days after joining, they will start chatting with you about all sorts of things and asking about everything in your life. If you value having some privacy, it is recommended that you do not go.) They will also think you are not of the same mind and do not want to strive with them, and will privately tell you that many things are not illegal but do not conform to moral and ethical standards.
5. If you want to resign, they will not treat you kindly. They may try to retain you publicly, but privately they will continually criticize you in various ways.
If you are in sales, they will hold a sales meeting and ask everyone to discuss whether this person should be retained. If not, they will immediately tell the person to leave on the spot that same day. Sales staff who resign are also not allowed to say that the company is bad or name specific people and describe what they are like, because you could get colleagues who remain there killed.
(The reason is that they will ask the person you talked about to respond to what they heard, or ask everyone whether the company is really as that person described it.)
But they will not conduct any self-reflection; they only want everyone to agree with everything the supervisor says.
Even if you resigned more than five years ago, as long as a recent case resembles something they encountered in the past, they will keep bringing it up.
Even if it has nothing to do with you, they will keep bringing it up.
6. The supervisor often says that everyone is their dog. If the dog is not utterly loyal, they should resign immediately. They often tell people to get out immediately and frequently lose their temper.
7. The starting salary is very low. They tell you that you can earn more than 30,000–40,000 per month, but during the interview they will not explain it clearly. They just chat about all sorts of things and then give a rough, brief description of the base salary. Even on your first day, they may not necessarily tell you the salary details. If there is time, they will take you directly to the market to solicit customers. If you are not suited to it, you may be eliminated immediately, and they do not have to pay you.
To resign, you have to give 10 days’ notice and work a full month before you can receive one month’s salary. However, they will not let you receive the full amount. As soon as you announce your resignation, they will immediately tell you to leave that same day (because they think that since you are leaving, they should not waste salary on someone who is no longer useful).
8. Sometimes the supervisor likes to make physical contact. The male supervisor likes to slap the flesh around your mouth, pinch the flesh around your waist, or put an arm around your shoulders.
The female supervisor likes to deliberately poke your breasts in front of other people (of course, depending on your posture, she might sometimes rub against your breasts or something similar). They say this is one of their ways of communicating with people and that they want to build a closer relationship with you.
