1. Unwilling to offer competitive salaries, only willing to pay NT$25,000–27,000, so the positions have remained open for a long time.
2. The company has many parachuted-in positions and many long-term employees who are entrenched.
3. Regarding raises, it is like children who make noise getting candy: employees who do not complain just keep working silently, while those who are better at currying favor receive more rewards.
4. The company’s culture of sexual harassment is extremely serious. Men and women speak to each other using suggestive language with no restraint, while supervisors turn a blind eye and even join in. It is extremely uncouth.
5. Although it is called an environmental-protection industry, the company does not comply with environmental regulations. It was even cited by the Environmental Protection Administration. An originally hefty fine of more than NT$20 million was reduced to a small penalty after legislators exerted influence. The company also forged documents and signed a false contract in an attempt to conceal the fact that goods had been illegally stockpiled, thereby reducing the Environmental Protection Bureau’s penalty. As a result, the contractor was fined more than NT$200,000, all of which was borne by the company.
