Pros

You can tell from the experience below that there was nothing to be happy about.

Cons

The company environment was rather gloomy. There weren't many employees, and everyone was very quiet!

At the beginning, they had me fill out some forms. There were a lot of miscellaneous things to fill in, and afterward they gave me a file to memorize for a test.

Halfway through, they called me into a small room to start the interview.

The boss seemed pretty impressive~~ Their hair accessories market is focused on Europe~

After looking at my résumé and portfolio, he asked me to talk about my thoughts on my work, so I started confidently introducing my work.

Next came the time for him to share his thoughts about me...

He said I was very capable (I have six years of experience in graphic design), but that my abilities were of little use to them, and that I would be a zero at his company.

He said my personal style was too strong, my personality too distinctive, and my personal opinions too prominent—that I seemed overconfident and difficult to work with at the company... (I explained that people who work in design may be more likely to have their own ideas.)

He said that when you take a job, the company is giving you an opportunity to learn and even paying you, so I needed to change my mindset and be grateful; otherwise, it would be difficult to find a job later.

He said that hundreds of people graduate with design degrees every year. Although they might not be better than me now, my current experience was also accumulated through my previous companies.

He also explained the employee four-quadrant model to me:

Poor ability and poor attitude: a liability

Poor ability and good attitude: an employee

Good ability and poor attitude: a talented person

Good ability and good attitude: an asset

He said my abilities were very good~ and that I belonged in the “talented person” category~~ but he didn't want talented people; he wanted assets,

(but I honestly have no idea what I did that showed a poor attitude?? Black-person-confused question marks?)

At the end of the interview, I thanked him for his guidance. He told me, “I don't think you're the person we're looking for, but if we can't find anyone later, we'll still notify you for a second interview” (??)

This was truly the most speechless interview I've ever had. Why did I feel like I had been judged as completely worthless? I kept thinking back, wondering whether I had said something wrong that made him misunderstand me as having a poor attitude.

Still, I think it's probably for the best that I didn't get the job. If they would belittle an interviewee to this extent, I don't think I could be happy working there anyway~
