Excerpt:
Position interviewed for: Domestic Sales Specialist
Company products: Various hook-and-loop fasteners (Velcro)
Interview process: (1) First, I took a personality test and written tests (Chinese and mathematics).
(2) Interviewed with the Sales Manager. I first introduced myself and briefly described my competitive advantages, followed by a Q&A session. They asked several more unusual questions: What was the previous year's EPS of your former company? What was its stock price yesterday? Your major does not provide much of a business background; how would you make up for that?
Thoughts: When we subsequently discussed salary, the interviewer said: “Last week, someone from the College of Commerce at National Chengchi University came for an interview. He asked for 35K, and I said that we would have to discuss that figure further. That same week, someone from the College of Commerce at National Central University asked for 32K, and I said that you might have to lower it a little. So, considering that you do not have a business-school background, how much do you think you should ask for?”
Salary: I guessed NT$26K–28K.
Result: We could not reach an agreement on salary, and there was no further follow-up.
