The company's accounting staff, order-entry staff, and sales staff are all crammed into a very small workspace. The chairs are small and hard. There are also not enough computers. Sales staff need computers to work, but they have to look around for an available one, and many times there is not even a computer available to work on.
The food ingredients sold by the company, except for refrigerated and frozen products, are generally stored at room temperature. Oils and sauces are all kept at room temperature. Some oil products are placed in areas exposed to sunlight and feel warm to the touch. Yet this warehouse setup supplies more than half of the restaurants, snack shops and bakeries, and hotels in southern Taiwan. The thought of eating out in the future makes me shudder. Are the oils and sauces I consume really safe?
The owner is a very down-to-earth person in his 60s. He claims to teach at Cheng Shiu University and to be pursuing a dual degree. Yet despite this background, the company's product storage environment and logistics processes are very old-fashioned and not modern. The best way to describe it is an old-time grocery store. That is the impression this company gives.
The owner once said that paying sales staff NT$36,000 was a high salary. So salespeople who can accept this value system are welcome to apply. Personally, I feel that the ideas and values of the new generation should not be compatible with the owner's ideas and values. Young people considering working there, please take note.
