Product R&D Engineer (I)

Situation

1. During the interview, the company manager asked whether I was good at debugging, whether I understood ISO XXXX, and whether I knew how to use ERP or PDM systems. I work as an R&D engineer at a system manufacturer, and aside from PDM/ERP, I really have not used the other systems.

2. The manager asked me to identify the aspects of work that I care about most (e.g., work atmosphere, number of overtime hours, salary, etc.) and hoped that I would clarify any questions before joining.

3. I asked the manager whether the department often requires overtime. They said it does not, and that the latest I would usually leave is around 7 p.m. Overtime is paid, and regarding benefits, the manager said that the basic benefits listed on the website would all be provided.

Salary

1. Despite having four years of experience as a laptop mechanical engineer at a system manufacturer, it was difficult to negotiate the salary. (Requested NT$46K.)

2. The manager asked about the starting salary at my previous job and my salary when I left.
