Pros

The prices were clearly stated: there were questions in the 40,000–50,000 range and also questions in the 50,000–60,000 range.

In the end, I first chose the ones above 40,000, and there were three questions.

The first was a simple Input, followed by using a timer to produce the output.

The second involved comparing Java strings. I directly converted them into byte arrays and compared them bit by bit. Being able to react at all during an on-the-spot exam was already pretty good. The interviewer didn’t care whether the function names I used were exactly correct; as long as I explained what they were for, they let me use them.

Finally, I had to rewrite the lltoa function in the fastest way possible. The interviewer also told me what it was for, so I wrote a brute-force solution with a for loop. Then the interviewer asked whether I wanted to challenge questions above 50,000. So I gave it a try.

The first question was about the button states on a touch panel. I told them that state could be used to implement it, but I didn’t finish writing it. After finishing the first sheet, I had no fight left in me.

The remaining two questions were rotating a graph and a Perl program I couldn’t understand.

Cons

The HR attitude was poor.

If you can’t afford to pay people, don’t recruit them. As for the later questions, even someone earning 70,000 a month might not necessarily be able to solve them.
