None, terrible to the extreme

On Wednesday, I was officially notified that I had been hired. Then, at 7 p.m. on Friday (after working hours), HR suddenly notified me that I had to interview again. I immediately replied to ask what the second interview meant. I had already finalized the rental of a house, so did the second interview mean that there was a possibility my hiring had changed? They sent an email after work saying, “Come back for another interview on Monday!” This HR representative did not ask the applicant whether it was convenient and simply left work. When I called the company back, no one answered, and they did not reply to my email.

I had clearly already received an official offer, yet two days later they dropped another uncertain bombshell on me. Were they messing with me?

Seeing their unresponsive attitude, I immediately declined to start work!

On Monday, they snapped: “You’re the one who didn’t want to learn more about the company.”

I was dumbfounded. A company that claims to be a major group with its own hospital system and so on had an HR representative who spoke so inappropriately.

I did not hold back either: “Ms. HR, I was only asking what the second interview was for. Since I had already been hired, ordinarily a second interview would mean that I had not yet been hired and therefore needed to interview again. You left work directly without obtaining the applicant’s agreement and arbitrarily scheduled a time. That is disrespectful. What do you mean by speaking to me so aggressively?”

Afterward, on Monday, I called and asked to speak directly with the person in charge. Every employee said, “The manager isn’t here~” What a coincidence.

They completely ignored the matter and gave me no explanation. HR snapped at me again, saying that the manager had told HR too late and that it was not her fault, and then asked me to be understanding. Understanding what, exactly? I rented the house and had to cancel the lease two days later, losing a considerable amount in penalties! Completely irresponsible—they are really good at shifting blame. This shows that the entire company’s system is problematic. Although I was furious, fortunately I never went to work for this terrible company!
