They said that because this position was not an ordinary assistant job that just anyone could handle, they needed more time to assess candidates’ abilities. During the second interview, a supervisor would show me the usual work of visiting clients. The result....

The supervisor on the day of the second interview was a recent female graduate who had only been with the company for three months. She was fundamentally unable to assess my abilities. She told me that we would be traveling relatively far that day, so she drove me by scooter from Zhongli to Hsinchu. The client visits consisted of ordinary salespeople going door to door to make sales—work that anyone could do. Therefore, the requirement in the job description for more than two years of experience was simply a lie. Other applicants, regardless of the position they applied for, were put in the same situation!

They also told me that after achieving good sales results, I could become a manager, and that managers could take a share of the profits. This was basically just like the upline-downline structure of direct selling: the more downlines there are and the more they sell, the more the upline can take. Ultimately, it was all just a way to trick people into applying. Moreover, after taking someone to Hsinchu for the second interview, you cannot leave partway through and can only accompany them until they ride back to Zhongli, wasting other people’s time. For a position that anyone could do, they still deceive other candidates into coming and wasting their time. It was extremely despicable!
