Nothing particularly enjoyable.
If you are interviewing for the accounting assistant position, please consider it carefully. The supervisor of the assistant department is very emotional and controlling. As long as you do not appeal to them or they feel that you have not followed their work procedures or methods, they will continually make things difficult for you in various ways. As a result, the turnover rate among their assistants is very high, so it is easy to get hired if you interview.
This position mainly consists of three types of work, in order of workload and tediousness: card swiping < wire transfers < month-end closing.
If you are assigned to month-end closing, you should be mentally prepared to work overtime constantly. The workload is heavy and tedious. During the interview, the supervisor will say that this job is based on a responsibility system, but in practice, overtime can be taken off in lieu of pay (you must apply in advance; if you work overtime without applying beforehand, at most you will be allowed to take compensatory time off. I heard it is not very easy to apply for).
The main work is issuing invoices. For month-end closing and wire transfers, you also need to organize billing details according to the customers' invoicing requirements. The work is relatively straightforward; the billing details are somewhat tedious, but they only involve retrieving data from the system and organizing it in Excel (the specifics may vary depending on the customer’s requirements).
The work is not highly specialized and is easy to learn with no prior experience. However, if you are responsible for month-end closing, you need basic Excel skills, such as formatting and organizing data.
The turnover rate in other departments of this company is also relatively high. I hope this information will help people who are going to interview.
