I applied for an administrative accounting position. During the interview, I was told the salary would be 28,000, with working hours from 08:30 to 17:30 and weekends off. Occasionally, I would need to go out to collect payments or visit an on-site location for inspections.

All of the above sounded fine. In theory, it was within the scope of accounting, and being able to go out occasionally would be even better—I could get some fresh air. Not bad!

After actually starting work, I discovered that the reality was very different from what had initially been described. I wasn't doing accounting work at all. I would go out with the boss and wander around for the entire day, often not leaving until very late. Even more outrageous, I had applied for an accounting position, but was also required to clean community buildings, such as washing the courtyard and water tanks. These were tasks normally handled by cleaning companies, yet I ended up doing them together with the cleaning company contracted by this company.

I also learned accidentally that my predecessor's working hours were irregular as well. They often had to go out with the boss, and their work was frequently dragged out until eleven or twelve at night. Sometimes they were even required to go in on holidays. I was completely dumbfounded when I heard this. After asking further, I found out that my predecessor had resigned because they often finished work late, got into a car accident, and suffered multiple fractures. Since the boss had no one to drive him around, he told my predecessor to resign.

After learning about this and looking into it, I found out that this company had violated the Labor Standards Act multiple times. It was clear that this was not a company worth staying at. I resigned.
