This company is hiring all the time. There are two interviews: the first is a brief chat with an assistant, and after being selected, there is another interview with a Japanese manager.

When I went for the interview, the boss was 20 minutes late for our scheduled appointment. I used those 20 minutes to carefully observe their work environment. It was a small office in a commercial building in Taipei. In a small, semi-open space, people sat packed together, staring at computer screens and drawing designs. In that cramped space, where stretching out your arm from your seat would hit the colleague next to you, no one spoke at all; they just kept drawing like robots.

During the interview with the boss, I felt that he was very arrogant—the kind of Japanese person who has lived in Taiwan for a long time but dislikes Taiwan and looks down on Taiwanese people.

I ultimately decided not to take the job because I searched Japanese websites and found that this company was notorious in Japan for exploiting its employees: there was no overtime pay, the work was exhausting, the salary was low—at the level of a recent university graduate—and there was no room for development.
