Pros

1. Flexible working and meal times; leave arrangements are better than required by the Labor Standards Act—just apply according to the rules.

2. Compensation depends on the individual’s background and negotiation; I won’t comment too much on this.

3. If you want to, the atmosphere at work is cheerful and relaxed. Once you finish your work, no one cares whether you play video games, read, use your phone, or browse the department store (?).

4. The environment in Taipei 101 (it can only count as a benefit if I include it).

Cons

1. The company appears to be something of an overlooked member of the group. It may initially have had some development opportunities, but presumably personnel changes occurred due to political struggles as well as workplace ethics. At present, the company appears to serve as the back-office center for an R&D unit within the group. It is also presumed that the company temporarily lacks capable professional managers, so assigned work changes constantly, including seating arrangements. The company currently has no clear personnel or departmental KPIs, and the tasks assigned are generally highly replaceable and can be adjusted or changed at any time.

2. For some like-minded groups internally, the experience is good. The R&D capabilities and atmosphere are strong, and employees’ work needs are well supported—for example, equipment and computer purchases and upgrades can be fully planned and efficiently implemented even in a company without annual objectives, which is quite remarkable. (As for software...)

3. Setting aside the desire to learn through work, I highly recommend that employees interact more with people inside the company. This is a very relaxed company where you can meet new colleagues across departments and learn how much BC or work-related professional experience they have (or management experience, haha). Everyone seeks improvement through dreams, communication, practice, and mistakes. I think this is the greatest benefit this company can offer everyone.
