Pros

The initial interview felt quite normal. The interviewer (presumably a junior manager) came across as very professional and articulate, and the interview questions were also quite standard. Overall, the junior manager’s image made me quite interested in joining the company.

Cons

In the second interview, I met the legendary CEO/boss, and my entire impression of the company was shattered! Compared with the initial interview, the boss’s questions were very unfocused. He first criticized me, then said he was willing to give me an opportunity, and offered a salary for a fresh graduate. It made me feel that the purpose of the second interview was simply to haggle down the salary (my salary). If the boss is really as “demanding” about everything as his Facebook image suggests, then employees would presumably also hope to get things “right the first time,” wouldn’t they? If he thought the candidate’s qualifications were insufficient, he should have rejected me during the initial interview—otherwise, what was the point of the initial interview? It was quite humiliating!

For everyone’s reference: My previous salary was n(k)-----I was directly asked about my previous salary during the initial interview as well

The salary range stated in the initial interview was approximately n+3(k)–n+6(k)-----During the initial interview, they mentioned that the work would be extremely, extremely exhausting

The boss offered me n-2(k)----There was also a probationary period, and whether there would be a raise after the probationary period was “based on performance”

In addition, they only said that the job operated under a responsibility-based system, but did not clearly explain the vacation policy, benefits, or employee rights. When I asked, they still did not provide clear answers. They also kept saying that they were hiring several people at once because of expansion, but the colleague who interviewed with the boss had only been with the company for a few months and was already planning to leave! (Hmm... being able to interview together with the boss after only a few months at the company, and then planning to leave after just a few months, really makes one suspect that this is a terrible job.)

To be honest, there are plenty of companies and bosses like this. The main issue is that the boss cultivated an image on Facebook of being very considerate and nice, but after the interview, discovering that he was actually different made me feel that it was quite disappointing! Other than the boss, though, the rest of the colleagues seemed like nice people!
