1. Holiday overtime is occasionally counted as “extra work” and paid at a multiplier of 1, such as on New Year’s Day.
2. In summer, the on-site environment is exceptionally hot and stuffy. New operators often become so overwhelmed that they break down crying or faint.
3. For the sake of their own “performance,” there is practically no time to rest. Those who are a little slower may finish the 30-minute meal break within 10 minutes and hurry back down to continue working; otherwise, insufficient performance results in a pay deduction.
4. Almost every month, someone has money deducted from their pay—amounts ranging from 500–1,000 to 3,000. Sometimes, even when the problem clearly belongs to another department, the on-site staff’s pay is still deducted.
