Pros

It is very easy to get hired because there is a considerable labor shortage.

There are many opportunities for overtime; there is a 90% chance of working overtime because orders are accepted on a daily basis, so basically every department will have to work overtime.

Working hours are from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., including three breaks totaling one hour: two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute meal break. However, this one hour of break time does not count as working hours.

An additional group insurance policy is provided, but if you are injured, the company will only pay compensation according to the insurance policy, covering your medical expenses for treatment; there is nothing beyond that.

Because producing glass is dangerous, arm guards are provided to prevent glass breakage from cutting the arteries above the wrists.

Good ideas will be adopted, and there are reasonable people in the company, but if you have too many ideas, you may also be silenced.

The Changhua plant has a young owner who has ideas, but sometimes judges people in a one-sided manner.

Basically, employees are guaranteed two days off every week, and working on holidays is first calculated as compensatory leave, exchanged day for day.

There are many opportunities for overtime.

Cons

There are internal struggles within the company, and some people who are lazy yet receive high salaries.

People like to shirk responsibility, exclude those they dislike, and pretend that their hands hurt and they cannot work, making foreign workers do it instead.

Those who are willing to work hard are exhausted, and when something goes wrong, as long as it cannot be avoided, they secretly cover it up.

The owner likes to compare the two factories with each other.

There are very few benefits. Annual leave only becomes available in the following year: for example, someone who starts work on June 1 will only receive three days of annual leave in the following year.

If the safety shoes provided for work are used for less than six months, payment is collected upfront; only after six months will NT$600 be reimbursed.

(If you purchase rain boots as well, you will still be charged if the period, including the work shoes, is less than six months.)

There is no year-end banquet. If glass is made incorrectly, you will be charged proportionally for the loss, as long as it is attributable to human error (such as incorrect dimensions, incorrect processing items, or errors when entering a customer’s order).
