Painting a rosy picture—beautiful and appealing—making you hopeful and full of expectations about your future work.
After confirming that I had been hired in the interview, they kept postponing my start date and could not give me a definite time. They said the big boss (a foreigner) wanted to meet me and sign the contract at the same time. When I felt that enough time had passed, they said they had to wait for the big boss to come to Taiwan. When the big boss came to Taiwan, they told me to wait for their call. While I was waiting for the call, they said that because they are an American company and due to “streamlining personnel,” they were canceling the offer this time. Then their job posting on 104 was reopened. LOL. At the time, I turned down all other job opportunities while waiting for their response, and what I got in return was simply “not hired due to personnel streamlining.” Please think carefully. The salary we discussed in person was NT$45,000, but it was cut to NT$40,000. I personally suspect that they wanted to cut it further to NT$35,000 but did not dare say so, so they simply decided to find someone new and negotiate with them again.
There was a month and a half between their verbally telling me I was hired and calling to cancel the offer. Therefore, I advise everyone that unless you have relatives or friends who can confirm that this company is very good, do not waste your time waiting for a company that cannot make you a commitment. You will only waste your own time and give up other good job opportunities!
