Pros

.The sense of accomplishment from completing a department store Christmas project is quite significant, but it comes at the cost of considerable physical and mental effort.

.There is a bonus system, but you may not receive the bonus until three months after the project ends.

.Sometimes, when the supervisor is in a good mood, they will take the employees out for a meal.

Cons

When the company is short-staffed, it does not hire more people; it only tells you to keep working overtime, overtime, and overtime. You may not even get paid for all your overtime hours. They will tell you that this is a position of responsibility, and that overtime only counts for productive, handmade work; anything done in front of a computer does not count. Overtime pay is 1.33 times the regular rate, not 1.66 times.

The supervisor is anxious by nature. What they say one second is often different from what they want the next. They lack sufficient knowledge and understanding. Not knowing design would be one thing, but they constantly pressure the designers to create the images they imagine while failing to clearly express what they specifically want. You are expected to work on-site and perform nighttime installations. Even the person responsible for website management and social media must know how to operate a Styrofoam cutting machine and perform nighttime installations. They expect everyone to be all-rounders who can do everything—but the pay is not equivalent to being capable in every area.

During the interview, they said the role would involve developing proactive clients. But when actually dealing with new clients, they often decide not to take on the work because the client’s budget is insufficient. Then they complain that time is being wasted creating designs and estimates, and say they are constantly being tricked into providing design drawings, even though they themselves failed to charge a design fee in advance.

The supervisor told colleagues that they hoped everyone in the company could discuss matters openly. Yet one day, when I raised a question during a meeting, the supervisor took out their anger on me. Unable to find a reasonable explanation, they became increasingly angry and even snapped, “I don’t know whether you’ll accept this reason.” Then, in private, they scolded the employee: “Why did you ask this question in front of everyone? Why didn’t you ask me privately? Are you challenging me?”

Oh, and the supervisor will also eat your food without asking for permission!
