Suddenly, someone with no sales experience whatsoever was transferred from their original position to domestic sales, but was not given business cards or complete training. They were also told that they would not be required to speak Taiwanese, yet were expected to show immediate progress within one week.
As others have said, the boss believes it is enough to hire people whenever there is money. Whether overseas or domestic, the turnover rate is simply too high. In Taiwan alone, at least seven overseas salespeople were replaced in 2017. At the overseas plant, the record was three new employees reporting for work in one week, and two of them resigning that same week.
Now that they want to lay people off, they suddenly take away their computers and phones and tell them to do cleaning work.
All I can say is that the boss talks complete nonsense. People who have thick enough skin—or a strong enough heart—and can accept extremely low sales commissions (even after receiving the commission, travel expenses such as airfare, accommodation, and meals must still be deducted) may consider working here.
