Pros

The company is on the first floor, so there are no stairs to climb.

Cons

1. The interview process felt insincere.

2. The interviewer spoke very quietly.

I applied for the position of Overseas Sales Representative (English-speaking markets).

When I received the interview invitation, I was told to bring a résumé with me.

The interviewing manager looked through my résumé at the time and then asked me some questions.

First, I should say that my qualifications are fairly ordinary: I graduated in the humanities and have no formal work experience.

Basically, I have an initial TOEIC score of over 900 and can use basic office software. However, I had already written all of this on my online résumé.

During the interview, the manager said, “English is very basic. All college graduates know it. Don’t even middle school students know how to use office software?” I was somewhat taken aback when I heard that, but I didn’t react in the moment. I probably should have asked what kind of expertise they thought the position required (I’m a complete novice at interviews, QAQ).

The entire interview lasted less than ten minutes. I left the printed résumé I had brought with me, and the manager said that the team would review it further.

This kind of interview made me wonder whether they had even looked at my résumé before sending me the interview invitation.

It felt as though I had made a special trip there just to hand over a paper résumé. In my opinion, if an applicant’s qualifications do not match the requirements, the company should not casually send out an invitation. It wasted ten minutes of their time and more than two hours of mine.

In addition, the manager spoke so quietly during the interview that it sounded like he was mumbling, and it was difficult to hear clearly.

To be fair, I know that both my interview skills and qualifications are not particularly strong, but this is the company I have interviewed with so far that seemed the most insincere.
