Working on-site at an incinerator, maintaining incinerator equipment as well as generators, boilers, mixers, and other equipment. The schedule is three days on and three days off: after three days of day shifts, you take three days off, then rotate to three night shifts followed by three days off, repeating indefinitely. This means switching between day and night shifts every week. The salary is only equivalent to 14 months of pay, with no day/night shift allowance, so it is always just NT$37,000 per month. The environment involves exposure to the unpleasant odors of burning garbage, dioxins, bottom ash, garbage stench, and so on.
During the interview, the supervisor smoked directly in front of you and made empty promises to attract you to work there; if you attended the interview, you were hired. Whether to wear the company uniform was entirely up to you, and whether to wear protective equipment was also up to you. You could smoke and chew betel nut at any time. It is a company with very little discipline; if a workplace accident occurs, you will find out whether they will take responsibility.
The atmosphere is like the lax environment of an old government agency, and most of the employees are older workers.
