The following describes my situation when I worked here as a part-time employee↓

The job duties were very different from what was stated in the application. The minimum wage provisions of the Labor Standards Act were violated. Regarding labor and health insurance, if you did not ask, they would pretend nothing was wrong and show no intention of providing it. There were no bonuses for the three major holidays, and whether you received a year-end banquet depended on the department. From the first to the third day of the Lunar New Year, there was no double pay; regardless of how many hours you worked, the maximum increase was only $700. They said an experienced craftsman would teach and train you, but that never happened at all.

If the department store suddenly decided to extend its business hours, no overtime pay was provided. There were no proper meal or rest breaks. Metalworkers had it even worse: whenever a customer came in, they had to keep providing instruction while also handling storefront sales. If a supervisor was going abroad, employees could even be prohibited from taking leave. The prices of repair accessories also differed between branches, with no standardization.

Although there was an email address, I never received any work-related emails. They then said that I had simply failed to see them. All announcements were posted on LINE; if you did not see them, that was considered your own problem. Pay slips were handwritten on off-the-shelf three-part forms and did not even bear the company seal. Salaries were often calculated incorrectly and not paid on time. All agreements could continually be changed verbally, depending on the boss’s mood.

A meeting was held once a month, but no one knew what it was about. The supervisor excluded employees and treated your opinions as if they did not exist. If they were unhappy, they would even hang up on you and refuse to answer your calls. When you resigned, they pressured you to sign a release form.

Working here will genuinely make you much more patient and tolerant. Once you leave, everyone will be fighting to hire you because you have to do everything.
