I went to an interview a few days ago, and they asked some personal questions unrelated to my professional qualifications.
For example:
(1) Do I currently need to support my parents?
(2) What does my family do? (I simply answered that we are farmers.) The boss then started making strange assumptions (because they had not read my résumé).
=> They began imagining that my family were wealthy landowners. (In fact, farming is very difficult: when a typhoon comes, crops are destroyed. Sometimes crops that have taken three or four months to grow sell for only a little over 10,000, and our financial situation is very difficult.) They assumed that either farmers are wealthy landowners, or that I am not majoring in a related field (when I actually majored in computer science), but that because my family is rich, I can simply choose not to work for a year whenever I feel like it (when I have actually always been working).
I’ll briefly give two examples for reference. I won’t say more—experience it for yourself.
