★The interviewer was very kind
★The environment at the counter and flagship store was quite nice and upscale
★The job responsibilities did not match the actual work
Reason: The position was described as a graphic design and planning role, but the job description only mentioned general graphic design duties, which could be misleading. In addition to graphic design work, there were also planning-related tasks and assisting counter staff with rotating shifts or working at the counter.
★The working hours, locations, and work arrangements did not match the actual situation
Reason: I was told that most of the time would be coordinated with the counter’s operating hours, and that work-related needs would require traveling between the flagship store and the counter. The break times and days off were originally described as fixed, but during the interview I was told that everything would follow the department-store counter schedule.
★The salary and benefits were not commensurate with the job responsibilities
Overall, the salary was NT$28,000.
This did not include transportation allowances or other benefits. A year-end bonus and performance bonus would only be available after reaching approximately NT$1 million in sales. The interviewer said that the company had only recently opened, so the likelihood of these bonuses being paid was low.
★Other
I was originally asked to interview at the A4 counter. However, only after the scheduled interview time had passed did they call the counter and ask me to go to the flagship store on Da’an Road instead, because their general manager was still in a meeting. After the interviewer finished asking questions, the general manager only said that she was very busy and would let me know if anything came up. This left me feeling very uncomfortable, especially since I had spent time and transportation costs traveling to the flagship store for the interview.
Simply put, they want to spend very little money to hire capable people to do many things. I really do not recommend this company.
