They called and rattled off a bunch of questions about my projects, waiting for my answers, then briefly introduced the current position. When I asked a little about the business-trip situation, they started going on about how they had returned from the United States in ’03, then went on and on about working in mainland China—how great and wonderful mainland China is, how Taiwanese people think too highly of themselves, overestimate their own worth, and spend all day thinking about having two days off every week while still wanting to earn a high salary, and so on, in a loop.
Summary: I don’t know whether they called to arrange an interview or to look for a dog.
