Pros

Pros? HR will just waste your time.

Cons

I applied for a position as a pharmacy store staff member. The job bank listing showed a pitiful 0–10 applicants. After I submitted my résumé, HR personally called to invite me to an interview.

Then, when I arrived, they kept asking me, “Why are you applying for a position at our store when you didn’t have any previous sales experience?”

That’s strange—weren’t you the ones who asked me to come for an interview? Didn’t you invite me because you thought I was suitable?

If you thought I wasn’t suitable, why ask me to travel all the way to your pharmacy? Is wasting other people’s time fun?

As soon as I sat down for the interview, they turned their head and asked whether I had brought a résumé. You didn’t say on the phone that I needed to bring my own résumé. Okay, fine—I had prepared one. But after all that, you were even trying to save the cost of printing a résumé?

So it turns out you invited people to apply just to boost your HR performance metrics? To kill time and pass the workday? You weren’t actually hiring?

Then take your time choosing someone. This kind of disgraceful recruiting attitude is utterly shameless. Damn.

You act as if your vacancy is so highly sought-after. Take your time choosing.
