There are many half-pay leave days; if you want to learn about the darker side of the bicycle industry, you can give it a try. As long as you are willing to stay, you may have the opportunity to obtain a high-ranking position.
The boss wants you to take half-pay leave (with a pay cut) while also expecting you to work without compensation. The boss hates seeing you arrive and leave work on time (ideally, arrive nearly an hour early and leave nearly an hour late). The bonuses for the three major holidays are NT$200. The birthday cash gift is a NT$100 scratch-off lottery ticket. The average year-end bonus is approximately 0.7 months' salary (it is always deducted if you take leave; in worse cases, there may be no year-end bonus). Even at the manager level, the salary will never exceed NT$45,000. Basically, one person has to handle multiple roles. You need to have a very high tolerance for stress. The boss is notorious for being moody. Even something as small as toilet paper is subject to penny-pinching.
