Sharing my experience as an advertising account executive over one and a half years:
1. Most of the company’s clients are existing clients (both large and small), so there is no need to do additional business development.
2. The atmosphere among colleagues is harmonious. The boss is very nice and respects employees’ suggestions. If you are temporarily late or need to take leave, there is generally no problem as long as your work is not delayed (there will be no salary deduction or intentional difficulty).
3. As long as you are willing to learn and ask questions, you can basically learn quite a lot.
4. Flexible working hours: start between 9 and 10 a.m. and finish between 6 and 7 p.m. There is no clocking in or out, and the one-and-a-half-hour break is ample.
5. The boss does not judge your work attitude based on how much overtime you work; getting the job done well is what matters most.
There is occasional overtime (when a project is urgent, you may need to stay an extra hour or two, but there is no overtime pay).
However, it is generally not too bad. If there is really nothing to do, you do not have to stay just to put on a show; staying means there is genuinely unfinished work.
