When I first joined, everyone was very enthusiastic. The boss and the boss’s wife were easy to communicate with, and work-related matters were clearly itemized in the daily meetings. My colleagues were all straightforward and easy to get along with. The boss and his wife were also very generous to employees, occasionally treating us to afternoon tea or drinks. Overtime came with corresponding compensation, and there were sometimes some interesting activities.

The boss and his wife had unpredictable moods, although they have been working on improving. The workload is not as heavy as it used to be, so many last-minute assignments come up, catching people off guard and making it difficult to keep up with what they have in mind. In addition, management favors certain employees. One particular person especially liked wielding power through the boss, so accidentally crossing them could lead to trouble. Sometimes, because of management’s emotional issues, you had to take the blame for several things that were not your fault, which gradually left you feeling disheartened.
