During the interview, I briefly described my past experience, but the manager was not really listening attentively.

Why am I sure that the manager was not listening carefully?

For example, my self-introduction went like this: I had previously worked in southern Taiwan for two years, and I had just returned to northern Taiwan this year to look for a job.

After listening, the manager then asked: So, were you studying or working in southern Taiwan before?

Another example:

My self-introduction went like this: I worked at XX Company for two years. My position at the time was XXXXXX, and my responsibilities included XXXXXXX.

After listening, the manager then asked: So, what was your position at XX Company before?

After the above conversations, I had essentially repeated my self-introduction twice already.
