Punctual working hours, with very little overtime. A small amount of overtime pay is provided, along with bonuses for the three major holidays and a year-end bonus. Sometimes the workload is not too heavy, and the design standards are not particularly demanding. Overall, the work is not too difficult. There are many colleagues, with both good and bad ones.
1. The workplace atmosphere is traditional and conservative. The job requires you to build the brand and manage the fan page, but even when browsing the fan page or watching videos for work, simply opening Facebook or wearing earphones may lead colleagues from other departments to complain to the supervisor. The supervisor will also require you not to wear earphones at work. The work environment is very noisy because of the printers. I sincerely recommend that people who are accustomed to working with music do not apply.
2. Those accustomed to the iOS system are advised to bring their own laptop. The laptop provided by the company performs poorly and often runs slowly, so you frequently have to wait. When commercial photography is needed, you must bring your own camera or use the supervisor’s basic camera. If you request additional equipment, you will be told that the department’s performance is poor and it cannot be provided for the time being—and then a year will pass.
3. Although this is a marketing department, the colleagues in the department have basically not studied marketing fundamentals or concepts, and they also do not understand much about design-related fields, so communication requires considerable effort. The company also has no colleagues in similar roles with whom to exchange professional knowledge or receive guidance. In reality, others do not understand the nature of your work, and after working there for a while, it can feel somewhat lonely and isolated. The work often consists of resizing vendors’ product images for various e-commerce channels so they can be listed. The work is highly repetitive but very time-consuming. Learning and growth after taking this position are extremely limited, and you will not accumulate much of a portfolio. People who feel life is too short are not advised to come and waste their limited youth.
4. This job is not suitable for people in poor health. Even when you take sick leave, you will be questioned about it. The company cares a great deal about punctuality, and clocking in and out is strictly handled through fingerprint scanning; forgetting to clock in will result in a salary deduction. For a 9:00 a.m. start, breakfast may not take more than ten minutes. Telephone etiquette is taken very seriously, and you are also expected to answer calls for nearby colleagues at any time. Answering within three rings is considered very important. Even though no one may actually call the graphic designer, answering five to ten calls on behalf of others per day is standard.
