The entire company is disorganized, starting with HR. They called to invite me to an interview and said they would send a notification letter, but two days passed and nothing was sent. When I called the company, I couldn’t get through to HR; the receptionist said they were on leave and told me to call again the next day. On the morning of the interview, they suddenly called repeatedly and sent the notification email. This was extremely disorganized and unprofessional.
When I arrived, HR said the manager had unexpectedly arranged to interview someone else and asked me to fill out a test while waiting. The test was extremely cumbersome, consisting entirely of essay questions that required considerable thought. It took a long time to complete, and by the time I finished, 40 minutes had passed. Only then did the manager arrive for the interview. The manager had not reviewed my résumé beforehand and asked me to provide it. After a brief ten-minute conversation, she said that my expertise was not very relevant. Then why invite me to an interview in the first place?
The manager went on to say that there were other interviews later and that I would be notified the following week if I was hired. As she saw me out, she even added, “Sorry to have made you come all this way.”
A company that shows very little respect for interviewees and wastes everyone’s time. It’s not as though they’re hiring retail staff—how can they be so casual about the process?
