Slightly higher than the market rate, by around 1,000–2,000.
The company presents itself externally as a foreign-owned company, but in reality it is not—the chairman and largest shareholder is Taiwanese.
All proposals concerning internal operations go through lengthy cross-departmental meetings. If the person in charge is absent that day or the proposal has not received their approval, everything has to be redone. Activities planned for next month are not decided until the middle of the current month, and then subordinates are blamed for insufficient recruitment.
Cross-departmental collaboration is like dealing with different companies. Although there are only 50 employees, senior staff will often reject junior staff’s ideas simply for the sake of rejection if they do not agree with them.
There is a major gap between generations of employees: after employees with over a decade of experience, there are only three or four employees with three or four years of experience (1–2 people), while everyone else is constantly coming and going. There is no promotion path at all. When the company needs your help, it calls you a management trainee; when you actually ask for a promotion, it imposes a pile of professional assessments that are different every time. Speaking of professional assessments, the probationary evaluation for new business employees at this company can take as little as 4–6 months or more than a year. They might as well be awarding a Nobel Prize. Managers even blame new employees for not following up on their own new-hire training progress.
Several managers at this company have occupied their positions for a long time, yet they do not hear the voice of the market and only produce reports and hold meetings.
Worst of all, if you leave to join a competitor or start your own company, you are seen as a traitor with no professional ethics. They are willing to spend half a day in meetings criticizing such people. Does leaving the company mean you have to leave the industry as well?
In short, anyone considering joining this company should be fully mentally prepared.
