Impressions from an interview a few weeks ago
1. Interview environment: Although there was clearly a conference room, the interviewer led the candidate to sit at tables and chairs in the hotel's small lounge, the kind used for afternoon tea. The interview information (four forms) had to be filled out under dim lighting, with one or two servers passing by nearby.
2. Interviewer: They liked asking pointless questions; it felt as though they were asking questions just for the sake of asking them. Asking follow-up questions was also met with skepticism, and the conversation was seriously out of sync.
3. Overall impression: I lost interest as soon as I walked in. I felt very uncomfortable during the interview, and from then on decided we should never meet again.
