1. Large company with a large-scale operation; there are three cats in the office for companionship.
2. There is fruit every week (although most of the time, there’s no time to eat it).
3. The employees are nice.
4. The endurance required is off the charts.
I am a 3D designer who left the company:
1. I work past 8 p.m. every day, rushing to finish projects day and night.
2. The turnover rate is very high.
3. The salary includes overtime pay.
4. Meeting the targets required for profit sharing and bonuses is an impossible mission.
5. The company likes hiring newcomers. Newcomers want to learn 3D, while the company only wants someone to work on projects. The people training them become exhausted (because once the newcomers have learned enough, they move to another company).
I suggest not joining such a large company. It is better to leave on time—or at least not too late—every day to avoid burning yourself out.
If the boss understood rewards and recognition as clearly as Terry Gou and treated employees well, I believe the work environment would improve.
Remember, Germans place great importance on work quality and the working environment. If only a boss who had worked in Germany could bring that kind of atmosphere and customs to Taiwanese workplaces—wouldn’t that be wonderful?!
