The salary offered is considered high, but without actually joining, it is impossible to know whether the salary is commensurate with the work.
They completely disregard interviewees’ time. The interview was scheduled for 2:00, and I arrived 10–15 minutes early. When the receptionist was looking through the folder, I noticed that it said “2:30 interview” on the folder, which made me hesitate for a moment. I sat there until 2:10, but nothing happened. Then another interviewee came in, so I thought it was a group interview. Shortly before 2:30, yet another interviewee came in. After sitting for a few more minutes, a manager came in, and I thought the interview was about to begin. Instead, she said that HR had to go out today, so they would notify us by phone on Friday about the second interview, and that today she would first give us a brief introduction to the company. After the introduction, she asked whether anyone had any questions. The key point is that she later asked me and the other two candidates what positions we were interviewing for. One of us and I were both interviewing for accounting positions, while the other person was interviewing to be an English translator. How could people applying for different positions be scheduled for an interview at the same time? I was completely baffled.
I traveled to Taipei from another county specifically for this interview, spending both time and money on transportation, and was shown absolutely no respect. If HR had something to attend to, why not notify us in advance and avoid making us come all this way for nothing? Does the interviewee’s time simply not matter? It was extremely hot, and they did not even ask whether we wanted a glass of water or anything.
You say your company is considered a leader in the industry—is this really how you treat guests?
Then I never received a call on Friday, so I called to ask myself. The receptionist said she did not know, and even asked me, “Did they say they would notify you by phone? If so, would you like to wait and see whether you get another call?” I was completely speechless! I called to ask, and you still want me to wait for a call myself? Couldn’t you simply ask someone and get back to me? The efficiency was absolutely terrible.
