The salary is considered reasonable for the Yunlin area and is not particularly low.
There is an annual bonus, but it depends on the company’s operating performance that year.
1. A fake Hong Kong company but actually a Taiwanese company; even if it were Taiwanese, it is still a traditional manufacturing company; even if it is traditional manufacturing, it is still a family business.
2. There is 12 minutes of sweeping time every morning.
3. The company lobby is like a temple: as soon as you enter, you see a statue of Mazu.
4. Overtime can only be reported as compensatory leave; applying for overtime pay is categorically not allowed.
5. Unspoken overtime clock-in rule: you must clock out before 6:20 p.m., then clock in for “overtime,” and clock out for “overtime” again before leaving.
6. The procurement department manager has no experience, is timid and obedient toward superiors, and extremely harsh toward subordinates. They do not understand the Labor Standards Act or respect workers’ basic rights, and even lack empathy.
7. To place orders with suppliers as quickly as possible, procurement staff sometimes have to come in for duty on Saturdays just to place orders.
8. There is no start-of-work bonus after the Lunar New Year. Employees only receive an empty red envelope, then line up in turn to load offerings blessed by Mazu.
