The lady boss was quite courteous, and the compensation is considered pretty good for the area.
I applied for an administrative assistant position at this company.
Only about 20–30% of the job involves administrative work; the rest of the time is spent doing manual labor at a bread factory.
The salary is still okay for the area.
If you are willing to do physically demanding work and are mentally prepared not to sit in an office, this job is pretty good.
The lady boss also seems like a nice person.
If I remember correctly, they let you work on a trial basis for a period of time to see whether you can accept the job (I believe it was paid).
For lunch, you bring your own lunchbox to the company and fill it with lunch (I somewhat forget how the cost is covered).
However, because it involves a large amount of manual labor, to be honest, the food is somewhat insufficient.
Those with poor lower-back function may want to skip applying, because in the afternoon you have to help pick and ship orders.
You have to repeatedly bend over and stand up, as well as bend over to push boxes.
I personally really couldn't handle it.
Also, I really don't understand why this position is called an administrative assistant.
It would be clearer to simply write “responsible for taking phone orders and assisting with picking and shipping,”
or, more briefly, “factory operator,” with a note saying “basic computer operation skills required.”
That way, neither side's time would be wasted.
