The only advantage is that the small company has very little structure.
A small company with 7–8 employees, a so-called family business. It operates under a highly demanding system of personal responsibility; working overtime when tasks are unfinished is the norm. During peak season, overtime occurs 2–3 times a week. However, whether you receive overtime pay depends on whether other employees worked overtime, because half of the employees are the owner’s relatives. Unless they also work overtime, you will not be paid for working more than one hour of overtime. (Unless there is a special situation requiring more than two hours.)
This job is primarily very labor-intensive. Since there are few employees, everyone needs to look out for one another. If you take leave, someone will cover for you, but the workload from your leave will increase, and no one will help absorb it. Anyone considering applying to this company is advised to have a thorough understanding of the Labor Standards Act. Otherwise, if you do not fight for your own benefits, the owner will exploit loopholes to take them away and feed you all kinds of nonsense (annual leave/overtime pay policies/national holidays).
