The interviewer seemed genuinely interested in hiring someone serious.

An absolutely terrible HR department.

Because I was interviewing for an overseas assignment, after receiving the offer, HR called me to ask me to book a flight. I replied that I still wasn’t sure about my travel dates, and they silently canceled the offer without telling me. I had already completed the medical examination, and then called to confirm the onboarding arrangements, only to find out that my offer had been inexplicably canceled. Apparently, even after an offer has been issued, they can cancel it—and they won’t even notify you if they do. Not long afterward, HR realized that I had undergone the medical examination and called to demand reimbursement for the examination fee. This was my first experience of how utterly despicable exploitative employers and conglomerates can be. They have absolutely no credibility.
