Pros

The workplace is close to home.

Cons

1. Starting salary, including labor and health insurance, is NT$22,000–25,000

(The boss always mentions a former employee who lived with their family and was satisfied with only NT$18,000.)

2. Overtime is not clocked in; it is written in a notebook. The overtime-hour limit is often exceeded, and there is no evidence to prove it.

3. The company has fewer than two editors who can cover for each other. If there is any problem with a file, you may receive relentless calls to return to the company even after work hours. (The boss may be waiting at the company with their entire family.)

4. Working hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a one-and-a-half-hour lunch break, but the boss counts your working time as only 7.5 hours. After you have worked for a full year, when you are worrying that you have no opportunity to take leave and hope to exchange your annual leave for pay, the boss will deduct the entire year's 0.5 hours and instead demand that the employee repay the wages to the company.

5. The senior boss is very tall; the height of his buttocks is roughly level with the height of someone sitting and working in an office chair. When he farts, he does not mind sharing his smell with others.

6. Employees and the bosses work in the same office. The boss berates his wife in the office.

7. Regardless of whether the editor's work involves graphic design, editing reference books, or copyediting, the more skills you have, the better.

8. It really isn't suitable; there's more to say…
