The entire interview process was awful. The only positive, I suppose, is that the company really does have pretty nice decor (sigh).
There was a huge difference in the interviewer's attitude toward candidates. For the same position, the previous candidate's interview took about 20 minutes, and the interviewer repeatedly praised her loudly, saying she had a great appearance and a sweet smile, and that they liked her very much.
When it was my turn, there wasn't even a single smile. The interview was extremely perfunctory and lasted only five minutes in total. Here is how it went:
Interviewer: What's your zodiac sign? (frowning)
Me: Virgo. I'm a Type A Virgo. Also, since I have relevant experience, I believe I can quickly get up to speed and do the administrative work well. (smiling)
Interviewer: Oh. Why did you leave your previous job? (pursing their lips)
Me: My previous job was in planning. Although it was lively and interesting and I learned a lot from it, I realized that I still prefer administrative work. In addition... (before I could finish)
Interviewer: (interrupting me with an impatient, furrowed-brow expression) This position does not have weekends or public holidays off. We don't follow the national holiday schedule because we need to answer clients' calls at any time. Is that okay with you?
Me: Oh, yes, that's fine. But regarding... (interrupted again before I could finish)
Interviewer: Okay, that's it, then. We'll let you know. (Immediately turned around and walked away)
This was by far the shortest and most infuriating interview I have ever had. If you feel I'm not a good fit, you could simply eliminate me from consideration and not invite me to interview, or tell me directly that you have already found a suitable candidate / that I'm not suitable for the position.
With such a huge difference in treatment, we didn't discuss anything at all. It was a complete waste of my time and transportation costs, and it left me in a bad mood.
