I agree that HR does not respect job applicants' privacy. I clearly said that I did not want them to call my current supervisor, but during the interview they still required me to fill in that they could. They said they would contact my former company to verify things no matter what. I really don't understand what they were trying to verify. Fortunately, I had already resigned; otherwise, it would have been extremely awkward.
The interview time was very strange. They insisted on exactly noon, saying that this was how they always arranged it. Although a second interview could be scheduled at another time, the initial interview and test had to be at noon. Because of this, I had to take a full day off for the interview, and then take another day off for the second interview...
