Equipment maintenance: salary under 30K

The poor working environment would be bad enough, but the supervisor has absolutely no understanding of occupational safety. The power is not disconnected during machine adjustments and repairs, and there is no protection whatsoever for working at heights (people are sent up on a forklift). They only say, “Be a little more careful; safety is important,” making it feel like we are risking our lives every day.

Despite being located in the Southern Taiwan Science Park, they completely disregard occupational safety because “you get called in for a talk, pay a small fine, and it’s over—it's like this every year.” With this kind of attitude, it is no wonder accidents happen (an occupational safety accident resulted in one death).
