The senior executive was very polite (before salary was brought up) and treated student applicants fairly well.
I interviewed for an internship program, and a senior executive interviewed the interns. We had a great conversation, but as soon as we discussed salary, their attitude changed completely. I simply asked whether work that produced value should be paid, and they immediately changed their attitude, saying that the only option was to exchange it for equivalent company activity courses. The intern’s work was extremely extensive and miscellaneous, yet they insisted on providing neither pay nor transportation reimbursement. I was stunned. Fortunately, I immediately declined after receiving the acceptance notice.
